BYD Energy Storage introduced new Battery-Box HVB at The Smarter E Europe 2025
Shenzhen/Munich, May 9, 2025 – BYD Energy Storage, a business division of BYD Co. Ltd., a provider of integrated renewable energy solutions, introduced its latest residential storage system BYD Battery-Box HVB at the EES exhibition as part of The Smarter E Europe. The high voltage BYD Battery-Box HVB is the first home energy storage battery featuring the innovative BYD Blade Battery technology. It combines highest energy density with next-level technology and an aesthetic minimalist design.
The Battery-Box HVB covers energy storage capacities from 5.94 kWh and up to 29.69 kWh within one tower and up to 89.07 kWh with 3 towers connected in parallel. The modular design and easy scalability ensure a maximum of flexibility which makes the system suitable for a wide variety of application scenarios including on-grid, off-grid and energy backup. With a low height of only 1327mm for one tower with 10 modules and a light weight of 27.3kg per module, the residential storage system brings the maximum energy density to a small form factor. The light weight and integrated handles allow for a single-person installation by enabling the convenient and comfortable lift-up of the modules.
The Battery-Box HVB is a true high-voltage system for high efficiency of more than 95% and a particularly high energy density of 108.8 Wh/kg and 162.88 Wh/L, supported by its cell-to-pack design and its innovative integration of the BYD Blade Battery. The system comes with a high performance of 25.6 kW max power and 50.18 kW peak power (15 s).
As the newest member of the BYD Battery-Box product family, the BYD Battery-Box HVB is also equipped with the technology for easy plug and play. The system features the proven and patented smart configuration support and provides intelligence management features such as automatic SOC adjustments, remote diagnosis and OTA (over the air updates) as well as the new „BYD Energy“ APP.
The advanced safety features and the extremely safe BYD LFP cells (cobalt-free Lithium Iron Phosphate), the battery structure, which is also used in EVs, as well as solid die-cast casing, making the Battery-Box HVB one of the safest and most reliable storage systems in the market. The 15-year warranty can verify this claim.
The Battery-Box HVB will continue to be compatible with a range of European inverters to meet the needs of different customers.
“We are delighted to be able to share the launch of our latest residential storage system BYD Battery-Box HVB with our valued partners, customers and visitors at this year’s The Smarter E Europe,” said Jiang Feng, Residential Energy Storage System Director of BYD Energy Storage. “The event was a great opportunity for us to meet our partners and customers, to learn more about their needs and plans and to introduce them to our latest innovations, which can support them in their business.”
