Munich, Nov 06 – EFT Energy Solutions, a European specialist for battery energy storage systems, introduces INDUSTRIAL FLEX, a modular C&I Storage System – ready to deploy. With more than ten years of experience in the residential and commercial energy storage market the team of EFT Energy Solutions, a subsidiary of the EFT System Group, managed to combine the standardisation and ease of deployment that customers today have come to expect from residential storage systems and transferred them to a standardized modular solution suitable for a wide variety of Commercial and Industrial (C&I) applications. For more complex C&I scenarios, including large storage scenarios up to 200 MWh a second version of the solution is available in combination with Multi-MW PCS such as SMA or Power Electronics.

INDUSTRIAL FLEX

The flexible modular solution is built from two standard building blocks:
BYD MC Cube battery modules and an ICC (Integrated Control Cabinet) housing the PCS (Power Conversion System), all controlled by an internal EMS (Energy Management System). Both ICC and EMS have been developed by EFT Energy Solutions.

Due to its modularity, the system can cover applications from 501 kWh / 250 kW to 2004 kWh / 576 kW. One System can contain 1-4 MC Cubes and the ICC can host up to 4 units of 144kw PCS with one EMS. The system is scalable further via parallel connection on the AC side. Any combination is possible with a maximum C-rate of 0.5C (1MW for every 2MWh).

Due to the modularity, customers can choose the battery capacity and PCS they currently need and have a future-proof system as the capacity can be expanded later.

The standardised components reduce on-site complexity – no internal module assembly is necessary on-site. Each unit comes pre-configured and ready to integrate. This enables fast and trouble-free installation with a plug-and-play approach only known from residential systems.

The standardised version enables the most common C&I applications such as self-consumption, peak-shaving, static time-of-use, and is ready to connect with higher-level EMS, SCADA or direct marketers to allow trading or dynamic tariff arbitrage.

For complex use cases or sector coupling, such as EV charging, renewable heating, wind power integration, or hybrid genset operation, EFT Energy Solutions also offers a bespoke EMS Solution with a single point of contact for development and integration.

Proven Battery Technology & Safety

The battery solution used for INDUSTRIAL FLEX is MC Cube, one of the most widely deployed and trusted C&I solutions, with an annual production capacity of 55 GWh.

It is based on the BYD Blade batteries, known for the highest safety standards in the market. The MC Cube modules also feature the multiple-level BYD battery protection, THE state of the art system for early detection of electrical faults, fire and overall battery safety, as demonstrated by the exceptional results in the UL9540A and TS-800 testing. The system is suited for applications in harsh environments with a temperature range from −25 to 50 °C, C5 corrosion resistance, and installations in up to 3000 m altitude.
